This has got to be my favorite picture of our 12th Annual Summer in the City. It was taken this past Sunday by Alyssa Doherty, who directs our efforts at St. Bernadette and volunteers in so many other ways — a dear friend.
We were delivering a very large order to JSM St. Luke on East Capitol Street,S.E. shortly after Masses concluded for the day. Our assistant pantry director there, Donna Copening, came directly after Mass and worked so hard, like a young girl half her age.
It’s so joyful to work with such dedicated, loving people who selflessly give of their time to serve their neighbors in need. We are so privileged to have Donna as part of our family. #ActionsNotWords #summerinthecity
