JSM relies solely on the generosity of private donations in order to provide for more than 1,000 food insecure, working poor families in the District of Columbia each and every month. We receive no support from the government. As an all volunteer army, with minimal overhead and no payroll, you can rest assured that your donation will be used to purchase food. In addition to the non-perishable food donated by area churches, civic organizations and companies, JSM purchases fresh produce, milk and eggs, meat and poultry, baked goods and other items to provide a balanced, nutritious diet for the families we serve.
