Brief Biography of our Chairman of the Boardʉ۬

Brian M. Mulholland founded the John S. Mulholland Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity in 2013. He serves as the Foundation’s Chairman of the Board, without compensation. The Foundation serves the working poor of the District of Columbia through food pantries in the poorest neighborhoods, providing supplemental food assistance to hundreds of families each month.

Mr. Mulholland is a native Washingtonian and a veteran of the hotel industry, where he served in numerous executive management positions, including General Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing for Hilton, Swissotel and Sheraton in Washington, DC, New Orleans, Miami Beach, Boston and Chicago.

Mulholland later formed MMC, Inc., a full service marketing, advertising and public relations firm serving a variety of companies in the service industry, and later as a consultant and in interim executive management.

Throughout his adult life, Mr. Mulholland has been deeply involved in philanthropy at various levels. In the late 70’s he served on the Archdiocesan Pastoral Council in Washington for William Cardinal Baum. Later, in New Orleans, he served as Vice President of Big Brothers of Greater New Orleans and chair of their annual galas. Once he returned to the Washington region, he became Chairman of the Board of the American Heart Association – Fairfax, Chairman of the Business & Industry Advisory Council for Fairfax County Public Schools, and President of Our Lady of Good Counsel Parent Teacher Organization.

He served on the Executive Committee and Board of Directors for the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, and on the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society and Fairfax Symphony Orchestra. He has been the consummate fundraiser, and personally chaired galas for the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, Fairfax Symphony Orchestra and Northern Virginia Community Foundation, and several schools. Mulholland was business partner to Great Falls Elementary School and Buzz Aldrin Elementary School, both in Fairfax County, and participated in numerous programs at each. He was recognized as the 1994 Citizen of the Year in Fairfax County, Virginia and has received numerous other industry and community awards.

Mr. Mulholland is the father of two adult children, Erin and S. Patrick, and the grandfather to three grandsons. He is an active parishioner at Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Washington, DC, and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and Irish Network DC.
