JSM thanks the Victor and Pearl Tumpeer Foundation
John S. Mulholland Family Foundation thanks the Victor and Pearl Tumpeer Foundation, Mrs. Penny Trenk and JSM Director Richard D. Trenk, Esq. for their generous donation as Chairman’s Circle Sponsors of A Capital Evening XI at The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, on November 22, 2024.
Summer’s Here!
Our 11th Annual Summer in the City Food Drive kicks off this weekend at St. Peter’s in Olney (they did a dress rehearsal last week, producing just under 15,000 cans.) Many thanks to Fr. Tom Kalita, who this weekend is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood and 30th anniversary of his pastorate of St. Peter’s. He has asked for canned food donations as gifts so if you’re in the neighborhood of 2800 Olney Sandy Springs Road this weekend, be a Saint and drop off a few cans of food. We have a special need for peanut butter and jelly and pasta sauce, all plastic containers, please. Or, if it’s more convenient, make a donation in Fr. Kalita’s name at jsmff.org
We will be visiting 20 churches, including St. Peter’s, Olney; St. Francis Assisi, Dermood; St. Jerome, Hyattsville; St. Mary’s, Barnesville; St. Paul, Damascus; St. Mary, Rockville; Our Lady of Mercy, Potomac; Holy Cross, Garrett Park; and Our Lady of Grace, St. Andrew Apostle, St. Bernadette, and St. John the Baptist, all in Silver Spring. Also, Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Church of the Annunciation, Our Lady of Victory, Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, St. Augustine, St. Ann, St. Stephen Martyr, and St. Thomas Apostle, all in the District of Columbia. All of these parishes embrace the Gospel of Matthew 25:36-41 like no other — they are the backbone and inspiration for all that we do.

A Capital Evening XI
102,000 Cans collected during Lent.
Our 11th Annual Lenten Food Drive ended today with a record breaking 102,000 cans/dollars of food for the food insecure, working poor of Washington, who we are privileged to serve at 9 food pantries each month throughout the year.
Many thanks to Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Church of the Annunciation, Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle, St. Ann’s Tenley Circle, St. Augustine, and St. Thomas Apostle, all in the District.
Also thanks to St. Peter’s, Olney; St. Paul, Damascus; Our Lady of Mercy, Potomac; Resurrection, Burtonsville; St. Jerome, Hyattsville; St. Mary’s, Rockville; and Our Lady of Grace, St. Bernadette, and St. Andrew the Apostle, all in Silver Spring.
Finally, we thank Archbishop Carroll, Washington; Elizabeth Seton, Bladensburg; and Academy of the Holy Cross, Kensington.
All of the parishes and high schools met and exceeded their goal and all our pantries are currently fully stocked. We are grateful to all of them for taking this journey of faith in action with us.
